I am not an expert when it comes to makeup, but I do love it and have picked up these little tricks along the way. Some I picked up off of others and some I just made up and some I read in magazines. Maybe some of them you already know and maybe some you don’t. Hopefully, you can learn at least one thing from me.
-Eye Primer-
If you wear any kind of eye makeup at all. Invest in eye primer if you haven’t yet. You’ll be amazed at the difference of your eye makeup if you do. It was a couple years ago & I finally tried eye primer and I was hooked. I use both eye shadow & eye liner, but really I could see the benefit if you just use eyeliner alone. My personal favorite eye primer is Urban Decay Primer Potion.
-Applying Loose Powder-
After applying your eye primer, apply a small little bit of loose powder on top of your primer before you apply your regular eye makeup. It seems to make it stick better and last longer for whatever reason. I am not sure why, but it works. So try it!
Also applying loose powder to your t-zone if you have an oily t-zone helps greatly on reducing shine. Put a little bit between your cleavage to highlight it and make it look just over all better. FYI – I love that last trick, I do it when wearing lower cut shirts with my push-up bras.
-When Using Eye Liners-
I just learned this little trick in a magazine and was in kind of aha that is actually worked. If you are using a regular old eye liner that is penciled, before applying it rub it between your fingers for a few seconds to warm it up. It will then glide on easily. The main reason I switched to mostly gel and other type of eye liners is because I had such a hard time sometimes with the pencils, they were just rough and didn’t apply well. Now I can use up my regular eye pencils with this little trick. Do it and do it now!
Also apply eye liner before applying your eye shadow. I don’t always do this, but that way you can smudge it and fix your eye liner without ruining your eye shadow.
I think that is it for this one, but hopefully I can do these every so often and help you pick up my little tricks when it comes to makeup.
Do you have any little tricks you’d like to share with me and the rest of the readers? I’d love to hear them!
