Sitting down at a local taphouse last year, I was intrigued by a dessert they had on the menu. Brie & chocolate on bread? Say what? That sounds weird I thought to myself as I browsed the menu. Then though, we saw it came out and I was blown away. It looked amazing! The next time we split it with a friend and oh my goodness, it was so good. I would have never thought to put cheese and chocolate together, never. Especially when you are not big chocolate itself. That day my thought process totally changed.
Today we are giving you our very own twist on that brie & chocolate dessert with this Twisted Chocolate Brie S’more’s. We had two attempts with this little concoction and our second without a doubt was the better turn out. Never fear though, we’ll show you our first attempt too!
How to Make Twisted Chocolate Brie S’more’s Dessert
Our first attempt was for our early family Thanksgiving in Seattle. We were told to bring a dessert or appetizer, deciding to attempt making this, we opted to bring the twisted chocolate brie s’more’s. Since Seattle is a two-hour drive, we had to put them together while we were there, which didn’t turn out exactly how we imagined it would.
The bread we picked for the first attempt wasn’t quite right, especially without a panini press. A bit too thick and long…
While the first attempt didn’t look quite right and was a bit thick, everyone liked it and it was fine to feed our faces with cheese & chocolate.
Second Attempt
Was much better. I ended up getting this little pre-sliced bread at the store and it was the perfect size and thickness.
While we didn’t make these for any fun festive events, only the two of us, they were still very much enjoyed. Just not some extra fun “people” photos to throw in. Let’s face it, I was in my pj’s and I wasn’t getting in the photos then.
I think though if you make these for any Holiday gatherings, or heck even just a family night in, they’ll be very much enjoyed. A different little twist on a dessert that you (and everyone else) is going to love!
The ingredients are even simple: Joan of Arc Brie Cheese, dark chocolate, bread, butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
Grab the recipe below and run to the kitchen to make it right now. Or maybe after a small grocery store run to gather your ingredients, especially the Joan of Arc Brie Cheese!
