Idaho Deer Haven Now Booking – Relax & Recharge

Figured it was time for a blog post update, because yes, yes, you read that right, Idaho Deer Haven is now booking! How exciting is that? Also, how scary is that? I am still terrified when the first guest arrives and I read what they think. I mean, I know there are still updates to do, but I hope they feel comfortable and like it.

This new adventure is so exciting, though. The possibilities it could provide are thrilling. I keep having pinch-me moments because it doesn’t feel real that we are officially open and can host guests. We headed over to our Idaho house at the end of June, and as soon as we got back to our Washington home, I finished adding the photos, pricing, and all that good stuff. Then I took a deep breath and hit publish. When I shared on my Facebook page, I wanted to run away and hide.

I thought I’d do this post letting everyone know it’s open and looking for some good guests to fill its rooms with laughter. For this post, let’s dive into a little bit of its history. So let’s get sharing. FYI, there will be lots of future posts for our Idaho home to learn all about the home in general.

Our home, Idaho Deer Haven, is located roughly an hour south of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in St. Maries, Idaho. The original owner was my step-dad, Gene Peet, inventor and owner of Peet Shoe Dryer. You’ll have a Peet Shoe Dryer to use in the home, along with a picture of Gene above it. Shortly, there will be a short little story about Gene to go with the picture. It seemed only fitting to remember the man who made the home.

We’ve put a lot of work into the home and have many plans for future renovations once we can implement them. This is only the beginning of what you’ll hopefully see in the future.

Why Idaho Deer Haven?

While my mom and step-dad were alive, they used to feed the deer that came around in the winter. They would also munch on the apple trees that used to be around the property. Now they are just a fixture.

When we were there this last time, there were two bucks and at least three babies. It was exciting because we hadn’t seen many bucks around our property. They are adorable and feel comfortable in our home. Please be kind to them. I think this goes without saying: if you are coming home for hunting season, please don’t hunt our babies.

The last time we visited, they would often lie in our front yard several times a day. The front room provides the perfect view while they are relaxing. Enjoy Idaho Deer Haven as the ideal haven for this family of deer.

Brief Room Statuses

There are three bedrooms and two baths. Right now, you’ll find a king in the primary, a queen room, and a full in the last room. The full is what we usually call Lily’s room, so the kids’ room, but it can be used by adults too. It has some toys in the closet (hers while she is there) and a TV for enjoyment.

Of course, you have a living room, a fully stocked (we hope!) kitchen, a dining room, and a front room (where you’ll find a desk, printer, and bookshelves full of games, puzzles, books, coloring books, and crayons for you to enjoy while visiting).

Outside, there is a sizeable side deck that has two gravity chairs facing the mountain, with a picnic table—a front yard. There are also outdoor chairs in the front room for your use.

I’ll provide more details for each room in future blog posts – You can peek at the few I’ve already done to prepare for this day, here. You can also visit my Amazon Influencer Page for Idaho Deer Haven, where I’m saving items we’ve purchased for use in the home that you may find interesting.

For now, Idaho Deer Haven is booking, and we look forward to hosting you soon!
