Setting my Mind Forward for the Rest of 2026
As a new year approaches, we all have high hopes that this year will be great. Things will move forward with ease, and good things will happen. It’s just how most of our minds work, which I think overall is a good thing. But we all know this year has not gone well already, and we feel like we are in the fifty month of 2026. I can’t let how the whole world is crumbling shake me; I’ll move forward and try to make our world better. With tough times and uncertainty, we have to focus on the good that could happen, or we can make happen. Here we go on setting my mind forward for the rest of 2026.
I have anxiety. A worrier. Dwelling on every single thing you could imagine. I’ve always been this way. But over time, I have become determined that I cannot focus on the bad or on what may happen. I have to try to focus on the here and now and plan for the hopeful future. Setting goals, planning – all help calm my mind. Maybe you are the same too. Think HAPPY!
Let’s do a bit of planning and goal-setting to set my mind forward for the rest of this bumpy year.

Setting My Mind Forward
While I never did set myself on a word for the year, as I had hoped to do. I did have a post on Instagram with three focuses I’d like to lean into this year. Movement, growth, and save. Movement is self-explanatory, I think – I just need to move more in general, I am much too sedentary. Growth is a bit more wordy & probably will do a little bit more in-depth on this post. I want to grow Angie’s Angle again. I miss how it used to make me feel, and I want that again. Save – again, pretty easy to figure out.

I have felt pretty lazy so far this year, and hope that with the change of weather about to happen, I will not feel as lazy. Setting goals helps me, as does trying to just center myself on the good or the good that could happen.
So let’s make some good happen – okay?
Growth on Angie’s Angle
Not that Angie’s Angle has ever been huge, but I had some great traction and steadiness before 2020. I am hoping to bring at least a portion of that back. Late last year, I felt a tiny tingling of that, but then these first couple of months have squashed it a bit again.
Working with Wayfair as part of the Creator program has helped quite a bit in building those much-needed blocks. I have finished one post so far and have ideas for many more (plus social shares I have done and plan to do). I was also accepted into the Home Depot program, but I am still learning that one.
One of my big plans for showcasing this year is redoing Lily’s room. New bed, mattress, painting, flooring, the whole she-bang. But I have to find the right things for it first and can only do it bit by bit. But that is one project I plan to share this year and help grow Angie’s Angle. And maybe, just maybe, our main bathroom.
We also have Idaho Deer Haven, which is renting out so nicely, but we, of course, have big plans for updates there. Again, only able to do it bit by bit, but getting there, and I will share as we do things.

Traveling. We have been lucky enough to start traveling again, and I am thrilled to bring those stories back to my blog. I shared Seaside just last month and plan on sharing our little getaway to Depoe Bay soon. Maybe, just maybe, I can start threading in car stories again sometime soon. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Giveaways. I love doing giveaways and hope that it can be a somewhat regular thing again as well. One of the perks of how I was feeling late last year because I was able to host so many great giveaways and have regular posts in the mix. Working to make that happen more.
Those are my main ideas, but I am always looking for new things to bring to the blog and new ways to share and grow. More of that this year!
Movement and Save
I sit on my bum way too much – it’s too easy to just sit down and then not move. Walks are some of my favorite things to do, but getting out there and doing them is sometimes so daunting. Trying to make movement a priority is hard. I am trying, though, and that is all I can do. Finding fun, different things to follow on YouTube also helps.

Having two homes with only one source of income was so hard and drained our savings. Being able to watch our savings grow a bit again has been reassuring. I want to try to grow the savings again while still being able to make the updates we want/need for both homes.
Goals. Movement. Happy. Focusing.
All this is how I am setting my mind forward for the rest of 2026. How are you doing it? What are some big goals/thoughts for you for the remainder of this year? How are you handling all the million things happening around us?
P.S. – I wrote this whole post while Jason and Lily played at a big jungle gym, and I sat at a table hearing kids scream. I think being able to write/work this way away from home means finding more ways to work in other places. Because it seems to motivate me more.
