Project 52 – Week 3 – Out of Focus

Project 52 - Out of Focus

Welcome to Project 52. One theme, one photo, once a week. Simple. I hope this project will help you grow as a photographer. Amy, Sarah and I are going to co-host this link up each week. Each of us will pick a favorite from the previous link up to share each week.

Before I dive into this week’s photo for Out of Focus.  I want to take a minute and share my favorite from last week’s link uppers for Your Everyday.  So many great fun shots, all brought big smiles to my face.

My personal favorite though was from Jessi over at Caffeinated Army Wife.

Project-52-My Favorite for Your Everyday - Coffee

Not only do I agree that coffee is a major part of my everyday, but look at that coffee pot. So interesting!!  Thanks for linking up Jessi and all of you.  Can’t wait to see this week’s posts from you all!

Project 52 – Week 3 – Out of Focus

This week’s theme was Out of Focus.  I had an idea that I wanted to capture Roxy’s little paw and blur out the rest of her and background.  But, I didn’t start playing with it try it until late Wednesday.  I just couldn’t get it.  I need more practice.  So instead while playing Thursday afternoon trying to get it, I finally got the effect I was going for.  I have no idea how I did it, but I did it once!  I couldn’t do it again on anything I tried, but I’ll keep playing.

Project 52 - Out of Focus

Now it’s your turn.  Link-up your shots and keep playing with us each week!

I really love this shot, I wish I had the time, the skills, the patience to really get into my camera, but not quite yet. I took a different look at this week’s Out of Focus theme and really made it make sense to me.

Thank you for sharing Project52 with me, I’m really excited about this process.

    • Thanks for joining us on this journey Rose – it should be a lot of fun and thinking outside of the box!

  • Sarah

    Beautiful shot.

  • I like your photo! That happens to me all the time – knowing in my head what I want, but I can’t seem to accomplish it. Then I manage it when I’m not even trying. Go figure. With more practice we’re sure to get these things to happen when we want them to eventually. πŸ™‚

    • Well I knew I had to practice to figure out how to do it…but dangit on not being able to do it again – but at least I got this one lol

  • Melissa M. Miller

I still haven’t gotten into this yet, but I’m going to. I was having trouble with the alignment of the prompts, but I’ve got it now. Next Friday, I post a “shadows” photo and the following Friday “morning”. I’m there!

I love “out of focus”. It’s funny because I was just doing some photo editing experimenting with blur since I don’t have a camera right now, other than my phone. Granted, it’s 13mp, but I’m hoping this photo challenge will help me learn how to use my phone’s camera better. I know it can be done.

    • Yes that is my goal to help me better learn my camera. Wish your regular camera hadn’t taken a nose dive. Bah! Each subject/theme is the weeks before the link-up πŸ™‚
