Camping. Camping is one of the greatest things to do. I think. Especially with others. It’s all fine and dandy with just Jason and me – but we are together all the time. We’d much rather camp with others if given the chance. Why not have an overnight camping adventure in the Kia Soul Turbo?
Kia has provided the 2017 Kia Soul! Turbo for our testing pleasure. However, all thoughts & photos are 100% my own. Amazon affiliate links are used in the post below. If you buy with that link, I may receive a kickback for you doing so.
While that is the case, we did venture out for one single night of camping earlier this month and had a grand time. It was much too short though and a tad bit chilly.
We had plans to be able to camp a bit more this past summer. But, alas, here we are closer to the end of summer than the beginning now and we only have gone that once. Life anyway!
Am glad we at least got our one single night of camping at Cape Disappointment and can’t wait to tell you all about it while highlighting the camping adventure in the Kia Soul Turbo.
Packing the 2017 Kia Soul! Turbo
Let’s be honest. When going somewhere, whether it’s a night or more, I’m a packer. I’d rather have something than go without if I want it or need it. Imagine the disappointment if you wanted a certain something and didn’t think to bring with you?
With that being said, I was a little scared how the Kia Soul Turbo would handle even just the one night of camping. It’s on the smaller the end when it comes to cars, even for just two and half of us.
Happily, with major jigsawing on my husband’s part, we fit everything we wanted to take. Check out how we stuffed the Soul in the pictures below.
The little slot compartment part under the cargo space really helped to be able to stuff every single space we had. Probably one of my favorite features of this 2017 Kia Soul! Turbo.
Arriving at Cape Disappointment
We arrived at our camp space at Cape Disappointment that was right near the bathroom (my request) and a tad chilly out. Since we left almost 100 degrees at home, it, at first, felt nice. Mind you, Cape Disappointment is only a couple of hours from us on the Washington Coast.
Quickly the chilliness was getting to me. Was fine if the wind wasn’t whipping around but with that wind, was a tad uncomfortable. Better once we got that fire going though after we got camp set up.
Jason and I played a few rounds of Boggle.
Once we finished that we decided it was time to start dinner. Which we were making on the fire. It turned out amazingly yummy, which I was happy with since I just pulled it off Pinterest.
After cleaning up from dinner we read some around the fire and then played some Deer in the Headlights. Was our first time playing but we enjoyed it so much. It’s without a doubt a keeper of a game. Played that until we decided it was time to get ready for bed. Crawl into our bed and reading before dozing off.
Leaving Cape Disappointment
The next morning we lazed around enjoying our coffee and making breakfast.
After we cleaned up from breakfast, we made our way to breaking down the camp.
Such a short little trip, but we did enjoy it! The Kia Soul! Turbo did excellent for our little adventure camping. Granted it probably wouldn’t have worked well for more than a night. Unless you are less of a packer and planner.
