Home. I think we all have a slightly different version of what that word brings to mind for each of us. While at the heart, I think we all have a similar feeling about home. Today I will be sharing my story on what home means to me. I would love for you to share what home means to you in the comments. Let’s all share our story.
This post is sponsored & inspired by Solarity Credit Union. However, all thoughts are 100% my own. Solarity helps people get into their dream home with easy home loan applications, signings, and processes you can do digitally! You can learn more here.
Home is what you make it. What makes home for you? Is it certain smells, family, friends, or the things you put in it? I think it’s a little bit of all those things. Close your eyes and think about what home means to you. Got a picture? Savor that feeling.
Now it’s time to read a bit about what home means to me and see how we are similar or different. Don’t forget to drop your story down below in the comments. I’d love to hear them.
What Home Means to Me
Jason and Roxy
At the core of it, are Jason and Roxy. Without them, it’s just not the same and doesn’t feel whole. They make my whole world. Where would I be without them?
Our Actual House
While not fully ours. Our home is still home and it is where I want to be. Jason has a long history with this home and while his Dad does still own, we have made it our own. It’s older and needs some major work that time and money hasn’t allowed us, but we are hopeful that little by little we’ll get things done. I’ve done a lot of house segments but there will be a ton more to add as we do updates!
My Bed
Honestly, I hate our bed right now, it’s super uncomfortable. The bedding and my pillow are what truly make me feel like I am where I should be. Which is probably one of the reasons I take my pillow everywhere with me. A down comforter, in general, brings me great comfort and soothing powers, too.
Being Able to Be Me
It might sound silly but to be part of what makes a home, home is that I can be me. There are no feelings of judgment. I can relax and not worry. That is super great since I am an anxious person and worry about anything and everything.
My Full Book Shelf
We all know I am an avid reader and there is a huge comfort in seeing a full bookcase of books that I have yet to read. They are just waiting for me to pick them out and enjoy them. There is a huge sense of knowing this is where I belong with all of my books around me.
That is a bit of what home means to me. I feel like I should have a smell I associate with it but for the life of me I can’t think of a single smell that does that. Maybe coffee? Maybe.
Your turn, what does home mean to you?
