How to Brighten Someone’s Day With Ease
I know. I know. We all hear it frequently. I don’t have the time, energy, or even the money to brighten someone’s day. Guess what? You do all the above accounts. It’s a lot easier than you think to take a moment to brighten someone’s day. And all it takes on your part is a moment of your time to put a big smile on someone else’s. And guess what? I bet anything it’ll do the same for your face!

Brighten Someone’s Day
Spend Zero Money
- Hugs. Warming both of your souls does your body good – make sure the other person is a hugger too.
- Text. Sending a quick thinking of you message/text is the bee’s knees, and I can 100% bet it will put an instant smile on the other’s face.
- Meme/Photo. Sending off a quick share on a meme or photo that reminds you of that person will instantly give them the warm and fuzzies. Being thought of is simply the best.
- Smile. It’s been said that a smile tells a thousand stories. Be the first to smile at someone in your day-to-day.
- Hold the door open for someone. I think we can all be in a rush in our normal, busy worlds, where we don’t pay attention to those around us. Let’s pay a bit more attention and hold the door open for the person behind you. Then also smile. Bam! Two little simple acts in one gesture.
- Phone Call. Now, this wouldn’t be me. I scowl and do stomach flips if my phone rings. BUT if the other person on the line likes phone calls, do it. Even just a simple hey, I was thinking of you two-minute call.
- Do a chore for someone else. For example, the other week I offered to come over and clean the sinks for our next-door neighbor. Simply because I was already doing the same to mine. I also took the opportunity to give their bathroom a quick clean. A little off their plate will surely brighten their day.
- Compliment. I sure love your shirt!
Spend a Bit of Money
- Surprise them with their favorite drink.
- Send them a card in the snail mail! Look at these card packs:
Birthday
Thinking of you
Anniversary
That way, you can stockpile and make it even easier to send out when you’re feeling it or notice an important date approaching. - Grab some small motivational cards. Drop them in those cards above, lunchboxes, doorsteps – wherever you can spread kindness and love. A couple of cute sets:
Inspirational Kraft Cards
Mr. Pen Cards - Grab them a sweet treat or even buy them lunch/dinner.
- Ask if they have a wish list. Don’t buy when you ask; wait, and when you’re feeling it, randomly send them something from it.
- Visit my Amazon Shop page for thoughtful gift ideas. I add to the list as I find cute things, so please keep checking.
Remember, thinking of others also makes you feel good. Taking the time to brighten someone’s day also brightens your own. It’s a win-win!
