If you have been around me in any form for any length of time, you know I have a deep love for photos. Weather its me taking them or seeing others photos. I love them. I get so excited when I run across new photos posted on facebook, as the same can be said when I run across them on blogs. Photos tell so many stories all on their own and its even more fun to say a few words with them because then you get an even deeper meaning behind each photo. Which is probably why I picked up scrapbooking years ago.
Now this year I joined in with others to take at least one photo every single day in 2014 and then we do a Friday link up with all our photos so we can support each other and see what we came up with that week. It is called Catch the Moment 365 and hash tagged so we can share on any form and still be able to find it, so you don’t need a blog to play along.
Mindi of Simply Stavish, Sarah of Nurse Loves Farmer, and Stephanie from Behind the Camera and Dreaming are our wonderful hosts and are guiding us through this journey through this Facebook Group. If you are interested in joining along, just check out one or all their pages and join the facebook group, its really easy and I think is going to be a super fun year. Or you can click the button on my right side panel. I can not wait to see what photos I come up with and see what everyone else chooses.
I also sometimes do a sneak peek of a photo or two on my facebook blog page – here, if you’d like to see it sometimes. It has been the first day of the week thus far. I have shared a couple too that I decided not to include but still like.
My goal for this year is to learn my DSLR more, which means learning the manual mode and getting the right light down. I really should just take a class, but the thought of taking that class scares the crap out of me, so we shall see. Otherwise, I am just seeing what photos I can get each week and excited to be better about taking my camera with me everywhere.
Without further ado my first week of photos. There are a few days where I picked two to share because I couldn’t choose, but I think that is okay.
1/365 – Above: one set of Christmas balls as I putting them away, I love the way this way turned out. Below: my beautiful Roxy’s sweet face as I was playing with my manual settings.
2/365 – Above: A Santa snow globe I found while having dinner at Aunt Rae’s, again playing with my manual settings.
Below: The fireplace from Aunt Rae’s too. I took several with my manual settings, each setting, and this was my favorite.
3/365 – I took my camera with me to Jason’s Friday night soccer and took this photo of Cathy’s Wonder Woman socks while she was playing. I too have these socks
4/365 – Above: One of my all time favorite people Shane & I at our favorite place the Cameo Cafe. Shane is actually the bartender there which is how I met him, and now he spoils me and makes me mystery drinks. He’s my friend *grins*
Below: The gang at Cameo, we went out with Chelle and her gang for happy hour drinks and food then to watch Saving Mr. Banks. From left around to the right: Melissa, Jeanie (which you can’t see), Chelle, Loren, Maggie, and Geoff. I love them!
5/365 – Was a quiet day, so you get the inside of my book The Immortal Life of Henriette Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.
6/365 – I have the hardest time with lunches, so we found these amazing plain chicken strips in the freezer section that you can cook frozen and season how you like them. This was my chicken salad.
7/365 – One of our nightly routines is to make the vinegar/honey with water drink for each of us for the next day.
