How This New Video Game for Garfield Is Giving Me 80s Feels

Garfield gives me all the good feels. Growing up, Garfield and Friends was a Saturday morning staple. It was, and truthfully still is, one of my favorite cartoons. Because I loved Garfield so much, I had to share that love with Lily. Lily now loves him as much as I do. She often asks if we can watch together. So when I got the chance to try out this new Garfield video game, it was a no-brainer yes. I snapped up the new game for Garfield in a split second.

Thanks to HomeRun Media for the code for my free Garfield game, which I’m reviewing. This post contains affiliate links, and I can earn a tiny bit if you order through the provided link.

I received my code towards the end of September, but we all know how sick I was throughout September. That meant I didn’t have the energy or the thought to add it until early October. Once I was able to, though, boy was I hooked.

New Video Game for Garfield: Escape from Monday

Microids and OSome Studio are the masterminds behind this new Garfield game. Players will master the technicality of feline movements, harness special abilities tied to 3 exclusive costumes, and face off with a variety of formidable bosses throughout their journey. With memorable characters, inventive challenges, and a surreal story through Garfield’s mind, this story into the heart of the nightmare promises a thrilling ride for players worldwide. Grabbing lasagna has never been so fun.

For Garfield, spending most of his time sleeping is routine. But spiraling into a bizarre nightmare full of vegetables, sugar-free candies, and other unimaginable horrors, even the world’s laziest cat knows something is wrong!

After Jon feeds him spinach lasagna inspired by Chef Monday’s recipe, Garfield falls into a deep sleep. To wake up from the nightmare and reactivate his taste buds, Garfield must embark on a deliciously chaotic adventure, where players explore worlds packed with enemies, challenges, and lasagna.

Thankfully, Garfield can rely on Jon and his friends Odie, Arlene and Pookie, as well as a collection of special costumes, including turkey, surfer and cowboy – each with its own unique skill – to overcome the dangers lurking within Garfield’s dreams.

I was surprised how hard the actual first boss was; I had to have Jason help me. We are still not entirely sure how he finally beat him, even. This was only on level 2. There is also a lasagna that I spied but couldn’t figure out how to get and haven’t been able to go back yet & try again.

All three of us (myself, my husband, and Lily) have tried and adored this new Garfield. We are pretty pleased with it.

My only gripe, which is just a weird one (even to me), is Garfield’s voice. It’s not “Garfield,” but I know it’s not going to be.

I highly recommend grabbing a copy for yourself or as a Christmas gift. It’s so fun, and we’ll enjoy playing it more.

Systems You Can Play Garfield Escape from Monday

We have Garfield Escape from Monday for the Nintendo Switch. Personally, it’s our favorite system nowadays. Love that it’s portable and can also connect to the TV.
