Dear Mommy:

I know you’re worried about my dog heart murmur.

It’s okay though. I still have so much pep in my step and spunk in my run. Do I look or act any different to you? No? Well then, what is the worry?

Yes, I’ll need a few more tests to figure out why I have this dog heart murmur. It’s okay though. They may want to put me on some more medicine than what you’ve got me started on. And guess what Mommy? That is okay too!

This Roxy girl isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. We’ll still have many more adventures, fun, kisses, and cuddles in store. No worries at all. Trust this little furry head when I say, it’s going to be okay Mommy.

I might be 11 1/2 but I still have years to go in me. There will be years for me to drive you completely batty and years for me to make you laugh. Whatever they say or do won’t change me or shorten the years I have to go. Yes though, we need to find out why my heart does this weird woosh. Because maybe they’ll be able to help the woosh.

So stop those tears, here let me lick them up. Life is made for laughter and joy. And I am here to make sure that is what is done.
