Today is the last day of my introducing you all to my best friends and how I met each one. You had the chance to meet Debbie, Kristy, and Teresa in my earlier posts. I hope you had some fun reading these as I had writing them and jarring my own memory.
I saved one of the best for last, as he is the love of my life and who I always want to do everything with because I relax with him and I enjoy myself so much more if he is beside me.
The Story of Jason and I – How I Met My Best Friend
Jason and I met many moons ago on that thing called the Internet. Yes, we met on the Internet. It’s my best working grounds, you should have figured this out already if you have read any of my previous best friend segments.
It was late 1997 or maybe early 1998, when I received a random ICQ message from him. Anyone remember ICQ?
We talked for several months. He was stationed in the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas when we started talking. He was getting out that next year, 1999. Originally from Vancouver, WA…he was probably going to move to Seattle to live with his cousin after he got out, but he wasn’t sure yet. We officially met in person July 16th, 1998 and have been together since and been the best of friends since as well.
Rascal (my dog at the time) and I drove by ourselves over to Seattle from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to meet him at his cousin, Brent’s house. He was on vacation to go to a job fair up in Seattle too.
The rest as they say, is history. We haven’t been apart since. He came back up to Coeur d’Alene in September I believe where he met all my family and everything. I then flew down to San Antonio (first time flying ever) for Christmas break. Instead of moving to Seattle in January, early February when he got out he moved in with me.
We got married June 21st, 2003.
He is the love of my life, my best friend – the one I want to do anything and everything with because I enjoy it so much more. He might get on my nerves quite often and make me so angry at times, but without him in my life I’d be lost and not complete.
