It’s the last day of the year 2014, which means I’ll be doing a year in review Finish This Style!

Finish This – Year in Review for 2014

What did you do in 2014 that you’d never done before?

This is probably going to be the boring answer, but I can’t think of any other at the moment, but taking the major leap and buying my own domain and then months later transferring over to own self-hosted blog.  BIG huge leaps for me.

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions? Will you make more in 2015?

Not so much resolutions, but a big long list of thing’s I’d like to carry out in the year, which you can find under Welcome to 2014.  I’ll be doing a new list like that one and looking back on those “goals” in a post in the upcoming week or so.  So yes I’ll be doing another list like that one in 2015, so New Year’s Resolutions kinda, in a sense.

Did anyone close to you give birth?

Not that I can think of.  My old best friend from elementary school had a baby though this past December, Caleb.  He was born pre-mature though and has made huge steps to be able to come home soon.

Did anyone close to you die?

Not this year.

What countries did you visit?

No countries, barely anywhere at all.

What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?

Money?  Time? Vacations? Hiking?  There was so much this last year lacked and made it a year I am so done with.  I hope 2015 will be a much better year all around for us.

What date from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory?

25th of November.  The day our life once again took a big shift and not sure still where we are headed over that.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Again buying my own domain and then transferring over to my very own self-hosted blog.

What was your biggest failure?

I am sure there has been some failure of some sort, but right at this moment I am running a total blank on anything.

Did you suffer illness or injury?

When I awkwardly fell down our back stairs to the basement.  Where I probably broke something in my foot/ankle, as it still hurts here and there, but never went in for it as I should have.

What was the best thing you bought?

The best?  I can only think of the most expensive and it’s still up in the air if it’s the BEST. We did finally get smartphones in February and I think those are pretty awesome.

Whose behavior merited celebration?

No real answer for this one either.

Where did most of your money go?

Bills, car repairs – you know the average money pits

What did you get really excited about?

Buying my own domain
Our Vacation House Rental in February
Becoming Self-Hosted
My 35th Birthday Getaway

What song will always remind you of 2014?

If you know anything about me, you know I don’t really pay attention to music as a whole.  I love listening, don’t get me wrong, but to name out songs just isn’t my thing.  With that said, since it’s my text ringtone right now, Boom Clap.

Compared to this time last year, are you:

Happier or sadder? sadder

Thinner or fatter? fatter – just a smidge

Richer or poorer? poorer

What do you wish you’d done more of?

Saving.  Walking.  Exercising.  Reading.

What do you wish you’d done less of?

Spending.  Sitting.

How will you be spending Christmas?

Well, that is past?  Right?  Not Christmas 2015?  We spent it at my Sister & Brother in-law’s.  After spending Christmas morning at home opening gifts and watching movies.

Did you fall in love in 2014?

No.  Was and Have been in love since 1998.

How many one-night stands?

Who were your best friends?

Jason, Debbie, Kristy and Teresa

What thing did you do that was meaningful to others?

-Tried to help fellow blogger Dawn, Check it Out With Dawn, with her troubles
-Donated things to help fire victims from an apartment fire in our local area
-Nominated Angie Moss, I’m Just a Girl in the World, for Kernels of Kindness from Jolly Time Popcorn and her being one of the 100 winners!

What were your favorite TV shows?

Same as most years: Criminal Minds, The Middle, CSI

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

Yes, in a way.

What was the best book you read in 2014?

As I said, I haven’t been able to read as much as I normally would like this year, but let me go peek at my Goodreads list and see what I can pick out.  Sweet Salt Air by Barbara Delinsky

What was your greatest musical discovery?

Nada on this one.

What did you want and get?

Our new mattress and bed frame

What did you want but did not get?

I haven’t a clue.  Can’t think of anything I really wanted or thought I’d get this year.

What were your favorite films this year?

We never go to the theater, so can’t say we watched any films this year to have a favorite.

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 35 in September and we spent a weekend at one of our local beaches.  My sissy surprised me by driving in to go with us.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

This blog.  My ever-growing social media opportunities.

What kept you sane?

Am I sane?  Jason.  Roxy.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Not a single one.

What political issue stirred you the most?

None of them.

Who do you miss?

Who are the best new persons you met this year?

Jeff and Jayme along with Joe – – it may have been last year, but I didn’t really “know” them until this year, so we’ll put them here.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2014.

That life doesn’t always go as planned and sometimes it all falls out of the bottom.  You can only hope that fall out was making room for something much better all around.

Quote that sums up the year:

“Everything happens for a reason, though we might not know why at the time”
